Magic Johnson looked down upon by the working class in Brooklyn but looked up to by the Michigan State fans
Johnson is the face of typical power hungry, corporate America you see eating up society day by day.
Johnson’s real estate firm, Canyon Johnson Urban Funds, has decided to change the uselessWilliamsburgh savings bank into a luxury condo building. Something more useful to society. Most luxury buildings hire unionized staff. But Johnson and his partners building One Hanson Place, don’t feel it necessary to treat their staff as human. They must pay $360 a month for health care for each member of their family. They do not receive pensions, job training or any other benefits.
Johnson is also also a spokesman for Rent a Center and Jackson Hewitt, a tax preparation company. It offers high interest loans for people anticipating federal tax refunds. The interest on those is up to 144% a year. Not very nice is it.
